In the framework of fighting climate change, Singaporean people were asked to express their opinion on how the country can keep emissions of greenhouse gas at low level. The initiative in the form of public consultation on new potential measures affecting entities, natural persons, households and state was started by the National Climate Change Secretariat (NCSS) on July 16. These consultations should last until the end of August; they include asking opinions on such issues as implementing low-carbon technologies and using alternative sources of energy.
The strategy focusing on decreasing emissions builds on the country’s efforts on fulfilling obligations taken under the Paris Agreement (Singapore shall reduce emissions by 36% by 2030 in comparison with a 2005 level).
Any person who wants to incorporate a company in Singapore (whose activity may be related to gas emission) should bear in mind new measures, which, in our opinion, will be inevitably released.
